Roy B. Parke, D.O.

...is a board certified family practice physician providing pediatric, adult, and geriatric healthcare services.  He earned his medical degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1972 and completed his internship at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.  Since that time he has been practicing family medicine in Northome, Minnesota and Buchanan, Michigan.

Dr. Parke is certified in the specialty of Family Practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.  He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, and the Nation Association of Seventh-day Adventist Osteopaths.

Dr. Parke enjoys working with children and appreciates the special health care requirements of senior family members.  He has a special interest in preventative health care and is a firm believer in patient health education. His patients especially appreciate the time he takes to make sure their questions are thoroughly answered.

Susan J. Smith, PA-C

...
is a board certified physician's assistant providing pediatric, adult and geriatric healthcare services. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Michigan State University in 1980, received her MT(ASCP) certification in 1981 and worked in hospital and reference laboratories in Michigan and Indiana. Susan returned to school at the age of 48 for Physician Assistant studies. She was awarded her Master of Science in Medicine in 2008 from Western Michigan University and has been employed at Buchanan Family Medical Center since then.

Susan is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants.

Susan enjoys working with patients of all ages and has a special interest in women’s healthcare.

Derek A. Henderson, PA-C

...
joined the practice of Roy B. Parke, D.O. at the end of August, 2011. Derek earned basic EMT certification in 2006 and graduated from Western Michigan University with his Physician Assistant certification in August. He worked for American Ambulance in Florida for two years and Madison Center in South Bend, IN as an Emergency Services Counselor for two years.

Derek grew up in Central Florida and now lives in the Buchanan area with his wife and new baby. As a Physician Assistant Derek will provide care for people of all ages and their families. He is eager to meet the community and provide quality healthcare services. Join us in welcoming Derek to the Buchanan Family Medical Center.

Arlene M. Saliba-ElHabre, APRN-BC

...is a board certified, nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She obtained her bachelor of science and master of science degrees with a major in nursing from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. She has served the southwest Michigan area as a nurse practitioner and as an assistant professor in the nursing department there. She attended Valparaiso University and earned a post-masters certificate as a family nurse practitioner. She also passed the examination given by the National League of Nursing to be a certified nurse educator.

Arlene enjoys promoting health and preventing illness in her patients. She believes and practices that nutrition, exercise, water, sunshine, temperance, fresh air, rest, and trust in God are vital to the well-being of her patients.

Arlene enjoys the variety of patients in the family practice setting and looks forward to serving you and your family’s needs.
